Sitting in front of windows, with an open laptop or a notebook, a cup of hot tea or coffee, having different ideas and writing without any problem, having the most comfortable job… Well, that’s what most people think about us, the Writers. In general, most of us writers pick up a quiet and comfortable space to focus on our work. Yes, we also grab coffee or tea to ease our minds with the bombarding ideas that we’re getting from our surroundings. When speaking about writing without any problems, yes, when we’ve researched a topic enough, we can write without any problem, but we also get writer’s block.

Everybody walks past a thousand story ideas every day. The good writers are the ones who see five or six of them. Most people don’t see any.

~ Orson Scott

But how exactly we get work as a content writer?

From surfing on the social media for local jobs to bidding on different job offers, from being scammed to getting jobs on low rates, that’s how the struggle of a newbie content writer begins. Due to too much competition, people agree to work on crappy rates. Writers underselling their content have now become a significant issue. Quantity over quality is how the newbies are also destroying this field.

What do we want as a content writer? Recognition and respect. No one would like their job without recognition and respect. Give us respect by valuing our time and work. We’re the same human beings like you, using our skills to enjoy this life.

“We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect.”

~ Anaïs Nin
